Interests, and how it feels having too many of them

Everyone always says that the path to becoming successful is to fully focus on one thing.
That makes logical and practical sense, but what do you do if you've picked up a lot of interests or interests that take a lot of your time?

It always feels like a day should have more than 24 hours, doesn't it?
However, recently I was down with a fever and not allowed to do 95% of the things I liked because you aren't supposed to stress/exert yourself during a fever.
That was such a long day and for the first time in ages, it felt like the day was too long, not too short! It's all about perspective, really.

Time management seems to be the best solution to managing all your hobbies and interests.
But we all know what happens next, we slip off our schedule, slump back into our old social media scrolling, Netflix binging, habits then proceed to beat ourselves up and do nothing about it.

I've tried making my hobbies easier to do and my procrastinative activies harder, and it certainly has helped.
Little things like putting my guitar closer to myself than the TV remote, so when that little monkey in my brain wants to do anything remotely fun to pass the time, it sees that guitar's the easier option to pick.

To be fair, at one point you do start feeling very guilty about doing nothing.
When that guilt hits a certain point, most people do bring a big change into their lives and get crap done.
For me that change was more emotional as I did just follow the same time management schedule, but this time the guilt kept me in check.
One side effect of that change is that when I genuinely can't do a hobby one day because of some reason, I get cranky! But so far that's the best way I know so it just seems like a small price to pay.

Another thing I've seen are those timetables people follow, like "5:00pm - 6:00pm: Guitar, 6:00pm - 6:30pm: Snacks" etc.
I used to do those but do you see a problem with those or is it only me? Why are they so famous?!
What if you aren't able to follow the timetable exactly? Considering your whole day's planned out with specific times, your whole timetable is now written inaccurately. Drives me nuts!

Instead, I prefer timetables like "Guitar - 1 hour, Studying - 1 hour" so I can follow it at any time of day, according to my mood.
It's not perfect for me since I get lazy sometimes and don't wanna do the whole hour but I've been getting better at that.

Well, that was just my take and personal situation on the time management, timetables and schedules needed to thrive in a life where lots of things need to be done.
It's a journey, and a long one at that, but the end result - being able to do everything I want during the day with no stress - makes it worth it, at least for me.

I think when we have such little free time along with school/office, making sure you get everything done and not procrastinate is more important than ever.
Everyone does procrastinate to some extent and that's okay, but if you can feel like you had a fun and productive day with a little time management, that's a great feeling.
And personally, that's my motivation to work towards doing something useful. How about you?
